Italian origins, global influences, and a personal touch are hallmarks of accessories maker Progetto Fede. Long time friends Luca and Aldo dreamt of days when they would develop something in tandem, yet family involvement in the oil trade kept Luca away from Italy. “We both come from modest families in Italy, and for different reasons we have been traveling for quite a while in our lives. My father was in the oil field during the ‘Golden 80’s’ so as a child, I studied in Saudi Arabia, then lived in Russia and worked for a little while in UK,” says Luca. Yet in their seasons abroad, both he and Aldo grew in their passion for cosmopolitan culture and when reunited, they were able to direct that exposure into a craft. Distance was not detrimental as they remained in contact and never lost their fervor. “We’ve always had common tastes in music and fashion and a love for handcrafted goods. Progetto Fede was a way to combine all of that and our individual experiences from our travels into coherent collections of products.”
“To have faith means to be capable of believing, to be strong enough to hang on to a dream and build on it daily, with reliability and respect, with passion and hard work, with values and coherence. That is Progetto Fede.”
‘Fede’ in Italian means faith and though these gentlemen don’t intend themselves particularly religious, their work together captures that essence as a testament of fortitude. “We like the fact that the meaning of this term absorbs the concept of believing in something, whatever it is, however it can be important for you in a general sense. To have faith means to be capable of believing, to be strong enough to hang on to a dream and build on it daily, with reliability and respect, with passion and hard work, with values and coherence. That is Progetto Fede.” Finely executed, this Base Pietra-Occhio de Tigre is a great accent to any ensemble. And their range encompasses a variety to complement any style choice.
