If there is one thing I’ve recently discovered, it’s the lackadaisical approach to communicate, precisely and efficiently. To some degree, I imagine the technological age that we’re in is somewhat responsible for that. Then again, it’s not far-fetched to pin this on our lazy nature. There is always a rush to find the quickest and easiest way to describe, categorize, and explain our experiences and interests, without much thought given to the words that would evoke the exact emotions we feel.
Vocabulary plays a great role in efficient communication, and the more developed our lexicon is, the more accurately we’re able to relay our thoughts into prose. Nobody wants to be misunderstood, and a foray into expanding our knowledge and word bank will only relieve this.
