Fall Line-Up: Footwear

As we make the (slow) transition into autumn and inevitably trade-in the linens hopsacks and cottons for cashmere, flannels and wools, what you wear on your feet is really the game changer. From rugged to refined, no ensemble is complete without the right pair. And I look for warm tones to complement the impending inclement weather. Full brogues, suede chukkas, or something more in the heavy-duty range, here are what I’ll be wearing this fall:

1. Allen Edmonds McAllister Wingtip Oxfords

Of course, we handle business first! This is an all weather beater but I love it especially in the fall because of the walnut color. It goes great with anything from gabardine to corduroy. And they’ve gotten a fair bit of use over the years and are holding up very well. Gotta trust an American original!
2/3. The Collier Chukka by Sebago and the Anderson boot by Hudson Shoes

These are great alternatives for changing weather or to just add another dimension to your look. I’m generally partial to suede but the detailing on the leather boots make a strong case. I expect a fair amount of deliberation in the colder mornings to come.

4.  Sperry Cold Bay Boot

This all-weather boot is never worse for the wear. Lined with Thinsulate material for warmth with a familiar duckbill silhouette, this is the perfect workhorse option for that inevitable slush mix New York is known for.

5. Timberland 6″ Lineman Boot

Probably the toughest of the bunch, these lineman boots made with classic Horween leather welcome some harsher terrain. It’s a great combination of comfort and function.

Grab any of these ahead of time or share what you’ll be wearing in the comments below.
