Last night, renowned Italian designer, Domenico Vacca, celebrated the grand opening of his new flagship destination off of Fifth Avenue. In expected opulence, the 10-story building includes the works—men’s and women’s retail, a bespoke atelier, an Italian espresso bar & café, barber shop, beauty salon, rooftop terrace, art gallery, private members-only club, and 30 long-term stay furnished residential units designed by Vacca himself.
Known for luxurious fabrics and skins, exquisite patterns and notable prints, this new shopping experience should come as no surprise to folks familiar with the brand and the man behind it. He’s fashioned a full scale line to meet the changing needs of contemporary consumers.
“People have changed their habits and the way they shop. So, what is the point of retail right now? The point is to create an experience.”
And Vacca has done just that. This new site is proof of how accommodating luxury should be–and begs the questions “what doesn’t it have?” according to Racked.
The event opened with a red carpet arrival of aficionados and celebrities including Maxwell, Shaun Toub, and Savion Glover, many sporting looks by Vacca. The affair was complemented by a display of Maserati vehicles lining the front, with speciality cocktails by Disaronno and small bites from truffle sommelier Christine Berni-Silverstein. The Quattroporte is officially the ‘house car’ of the flagship thanks to a long-term partnership with Manhattan Maserati.
