NYFWM: EIDOS SS17

antonio ciongoli eidos ss17 new york fashion week mensFor their SS17 ready to wear collection, EIDOS made a bit of a departure from their usual moodboard and took us along for the journey–while still remaining dedicated to tenets of exquisite fabrication and craftsmanship. After exploring textiles and textures from Italy’s coastal regions last season, this scene, painted masterfully by creative director Antonio Ciongoli, brought us to India, with its rich history of using natural dyes. With similar palettes for the season that touched ecru, oatmeal, and indigo (and everything in between), this collection also incorporated a more diverse aesthetic, with models draped in knits, linens, and cotton blends.  Supple silhouettes surrounded both male and female models, adding a subtle yet poignant touch to the thoughtfulness behind the design, with an element of the rugged tailoring that EIDOS is known for. Complemented with vibrant plant life and intricately weaved seating, you could envision the deep skies and endless sands characterizing the inspiration. Antonio is undoubtedly one of my favorite designers and I can name only a few people who capture and display their passions more eloquently. Scroll below to see the entire collection from EIDOS.
